HOW CAN WE HELP?

No, a referral from your GP isn’t needed to see a physiotherapist if you're coming as a private patient. However, if your treatment is being funded through the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) or you’re eligible under a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, then a referral is required. The EPC program allows for up to five Medicare-subsidised physiotherapy sessions per calendar year, depending on your eligibility.
Yes, physiotherapy sessions may be partially reimbursed if your private health insurance includes extras cover for physiotherapy. The rebate amount varies depending on your health fund and your level of cover. If you're unsure, we can help you check your entitlements or guide you on how to find out what your rebate will be.
Yes, Medicare can contribute to the cost of physiotherapy, but only if you’ve been referred by your GP under the federal government’s Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan. This program provides eligible patients with up to five subsidised sessions each calendar year, once your doctor has completed the required referral.
This depends on your condition, how long it’s been present, and your personal goals. Your physiotherapist will be able to provide you a clearer idea after your initial assessment.
At your first physiotherapy session, your physiotherapist will take the time to understand your condition by asking about your medical history, symptoms, and any goals you may have for treatment. A physical assessment will follow to help identify the cause of your issue. Based on this, your physio will explain the diagnosis and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. You may also receive some initial hands-on treatment and advice on exercises or self-care strategies to get started on your recovery.
Yes, we recommend bringing any relevant scans, X-rays, or test results related to your injury. This helps your physiotherapist better understand your condition and provide the most accurate assessment and treatment guidance.
It depends on the treatment you'll be having, but as a general rule, we suggest wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
We accept payment via cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa, and MasterCard, and kindly ask that all payments be made on the day of your appointment. If you have private health insurance with extras cover, we can process your claim through HICAPS, allowing you to simply pay the gap. For those attending under a Medicare EPC plan, please remember to bring your Medicare card with you.
